Little Miss Sunshine is a 2006 film about a family and their unusual road trip to California, in anticipation for their daughter Olive to win a beauty pageant. Frank, Olive’s uncle, experienced emotional turmoil when he lost his job and went through relationship problems with his lover. Consequently, he attempted to commit suicide by mutilating his wrists. However, due to lack of insurance coverage, Frank was discharged from the hospital and placed into Sheryl’s guardianship for closed observation and suicidal precaution. Frank’s gloomy emotional state was improved with time and family support.

The movie “Little Miss Sunshine” was written by Michael Arnd and it was directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris in 2006. This film is about the Hoover’s family and their unusual road trip from New Mexico to California, in anticipations of their daughter Olive winning a beauty pageant. This family includes Richard, the father who is a motivational speaker and the second husband of Sheryl, the mother of Olive. Olive, an average seven year old girl, who became overjoyed about her participation in the Little Miss Sunshine children’s beauty pageant in Redondo Beach, California and on becoming a beauty queen.
