Where did the bubonic plague originated? The bubonic plague first emerged in China .this outbreak occurred in China more than 2600 years ago before reaching Europe via Central Asia silk road trade route, according to a study of the disease DNA signature. This is probably why the disease spread to the other countries such as Western Asia by via the silk roads. (The Silk Road stretches about 7,000 miles long). Then the plague reached Africa by an expedition that was led by Zhang He in the 15 century.

One is that the plagues bacterium (Yersinia pestis) is actually in fleas which probably explains how the plague travelled to Western Asia by a road. Then the infected flea transmit the bacterium to rat by regurgitating infected blood into the rats open wound by biting them and when the rat dies it looks for a new host, humans. Another way is that the plague can also be transmitted by exposure to an infected animal when handling the body tissue or body fluids of the animal. Some researches stated that the rats are not the reason for the occurrence of the plague, which is probably
