Punding is repetitive behaviors that may or may not have a goal, however, result in some sort of pleasure. Examples of punding include spending ones entire day collecting items, hoarding items or pressing the same key on an instrument over and over again. The behavior can be meaningless, however, one may feel guilty until the action is completed. Punding falls under the category of Repetitive Reward-Seeking Behaviors and may be the most severe form. In this article, the researchers are interested in studying whether the usage of cocaine leads to or worsens punding. The researchers chose this study because this behavior has been overlooked; the only data on punding has come from cases of patients
