Furthermore, Sampson and Laub (1992; 1993; 2003) theory is more a sociological approach, thus developing the Age-graded Theory. The objective was to be able to investigate “whether (and why) adolescent delinquents persist or desist from crime as they age across the adult life course” (Sampson and Laub, 2005, p.12.) They established and developed this theory using some of the most captivating data. Sampson and Laub reconstructed the data from the previous criminologist Sheldon and Eleanor Gluck and tailed up with the original respondents who were then around 70 years old (Newburn, p.869) after being studied on through their adolescences life.
