Air mass-an air mass is a large body of air that form over water or that land in tropical or polar regions.



Temperature and humidity conditions are important to the resulting weather conditions that the air mass causes.

Fronts-they form at the boundaries between the air mass as they collide.


Warm fronts-forms when a warm and cold air mass collide and rise over a cold air mass.



Produces long periods of precipitation and warm weather.

Cold fronts-when a cold air mass collide under a warm air mass.



It produces thunderstorms ,tornadoes , cause cooler tempetures make stormy weather.

Stationary front-forms when neither cold nor warm air masses move at a frontal boundary.



This front stays put so it may produce long periods of percpitation.

Occluded front-forms when cold air mass pushes into a warm air mass pushes into a warm air mass that is behind a cold air mass.



The warm air mass is pushed up into the cooler air mass.


It may produce long periods of precipitation.
