John Locke-

Enlightenment philosopher who argued that people are born with natural rights. The rights are life, liberty, and property. If a country failed to protect these rights, then the people had the right to replace the government [violently if needed]

Stamp Act-

First direct tax placed on the colonists by the British monarchy. It taxed printed materials [diplomas, wills, newspapers, playing cards]

Minute Men-

Militia from concord, Massachusetts. That would be ready to fight the British at a minutes notice.

Declaration of Independence-

Enlightenment document that informed the British monarchy that the colonies were no longer British subjects. It was the Declaration of war for the Revolutionary War.

Yorktown-

Last battle of the Revolutionary War.
