Guided mode

Allows you to “confidently deliver treatment with one touch” and works with all generator models.

Based on our FDA approved standard protocol, which is based on Heck and Helmer.

Scheduled Programing

is also based on the standard protocol.

Automates titration schedule up to 7 0.25mA steps into the future.

Useful for high no-show or far away patients.

Day / Night mode

call it custom therapy mode!

Customize therapy for nocturnal or AM seizures or to manage side effects during specific times of the day. Does not work in guided mode. Needs to be enabled.

Prone / Low HR detection

Provides clinically meaningful data to physician. Stores time stamps of events within 7.5 min of auto stim or magnet activation.

Tachycardia detection needs to be enabled to enable Low HR detection and prone detection (after calibration).

Useful for SUDEP

Events

Advanced interrogation on!

Events is a summary of average stimulations per day, off time, magnet swipes and auto stims.

Trends

Download data - 6 months data

Daily view: average of events per day, inc time stamps

Hourly view: average number counts per hour in 24 hour view

Indication for use

Indicated as adjunctive therapy for patients 4+ with focal seizures who are resistant to AEDs.

Ideal candidate has had sleep study to rule out pseudoseizures, does not have cardiac issues and is not a good candidate for excisional surgery.

How does it work?

Generator, lead, electrodes, magnet. Mild and rhythmic stimulation to vagal nerve, innervation sends action potentials to the brain. Main method of action: decreases neurotransmitters, increases blood flow, disrupts abnormal EEG rhythms. Together, this reduces the frequency, intensity and duration of seizures.

80% of seizures are precluded by tachycardia. Responsive VNS can activate within 5 seconds = peace of mind

Magnet mode gives control to patient and caregiver.

Efficacy

Increases over time. With responsive VNS, at 13 months: 6 in 10 patients achieve a 50% or greater reduction in seizures. 4 in 10 experience an 80% or greater reduction.

25% reduction in SUDEP rate, 30% when adjust for age.

QOL

QOL benefits increase over time as well. Reduced frequency, intensity and duration of post ictal period improve QOL. Going from 4 to 2 or 1 per week...

patients report increased alertness, memory and mood
