Explain the Judiciary Act of 1789
The Judiciary Act was a law that created the Judicial Branch of the federal government.
Explain the first presidential cabinet.
appointed a Cabinet of four people (Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson; Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton; Secretary of War Henry Knox; and Attorney General Edmund Randolph) to advise and assist him in his duties. Cabinet officers are nominated by the President and then presented to the United States Senate for confirmation or rejection by a simple majority. If approved, they are sworn in and begin their duties. Aside from the Attorney General, and previously, the Postmaster General, they all receive the title Secretary.
What was the Whiskey Rebellion?
The Whiskey Rebellion, or Whiskey Insurrection, was a tax protest in the United States in 1789, during the presidency of George Washington. Farmers who sold their corn in the form of whiskey had to pay a new tax which they strongly resented. The tax was a part of treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton's program to pay off the national debt.

On the western frontier, protesters used violence and intimidation to prevent federal officials from collecting the tax. Washington responded by sending peace commissioners to western Pennsylvania to negotiate with the rebels, while at the same time calling on governors to send a militia force to suppress the violence. With 15,000 militia provided by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Washington rode at the head of an army to suppress the insurgency. The rebels all went home before the arrival of the army, and there was no confrontation.

Alexander Hamilton supported a national bank because he thought this would be easier and it would help the nation become closer but Washington disagreed because he thought this gave the founders too much power.

His VP was Thomas Jefferson who was a successful, crafted prose, he was chosen to express the committee’s points in order to have a unanimous vote to become independent.
What was the XYZ Affair?
Due to Jay's Treaty, the English turned their backs to the French and the English came to ask the French for help and the king sent three men to go tell Adams that they would have to pay millions of dollars in order to talk to the King and so Adams called the three men "X,Y, and Z"
Explain the Alien and Sedition Acts.
This was a law where Adams could deport or put any immigrants in jail who would hinder the government. THis ended up being a violation of the 1st ammendment because it was unconstitutional.
How did our first parties develop?
They started fighting over the government on if they thought there should be a strong central government or a weak central government.
What was the Northwest Ordinance?
The Northwest Ordinance opened up vast western land areas to development by the United States, accelerating the country's westward expansion.
Why did people move west in the early 1800's?
People moved West in hope of recieving lots of acres of land as well as finding a lot of gold.
How did Jefferson purchase the Louisiana Territory? Where was the territory? How did he expand the powers of the presidency with his purchase? Who led the expedition to explore and map out the territory?
In 1880, Louisiana returned to France under Napolean who lost land in the Americas due to a slave rebellion in Haiti. This ruined Napolean's chances of world domination so Jefferson purchased Louisiana for 15 mill and he did this without approval. He sent Lewis and Clark to explore this land and they explored for 2 years and 4 months with Sacagewea. Jefferson doubled the US by the Louisiana purchase.
Explain the War of 1812. What were the major reasons that America went to war with Great Britain? How did the winning of the war shape us into a world power? When/who wrote the Star Spangled Banner?
The Americas went into war because they did an impressionment on their ships as a violation of Jay's Treaty. They were mad because they werent abiding by their part of the treaty and France stayed out of the war and Great Britain wasn't allowed to come in the Americas ever again and all British troops had to be removed. Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner during war.
Explain the importance of the construction of the Erie Canal.
It was important because it connected the Lake Erie Canal with the Atlantic Ocean.
Explain the importance of the rise of NYC.
This was important because this is where economy started booming and many industries formed out of NY.
Explain the American System.
The American System was a program for economic development championed by Henry Clay, an influential member of Congress in the early decades of the 19th century. Clay's idea was that the federal government should implement protective tariffs and internal improvements and a national bank should help develop the nation's economy.
What was the Monroe Doctorine?
That says that the Europeans can't come in the Americas or else the American people will start a war against the British.
