Only stop at a lights one when it is red. Pedestrians only have the right to cross the crossing when traffic lights are red.

What should you do if there is a cyclist riding along next to you on the side where you want to turn at a junction?

Don’t overtake/cut past in front of the cyclist to turn into the junction because a collision could occur. Instead wait for the cyclist to pass the junction before turning - so that you don’t have to cut through their trajectory
