When shall Breathing Apparatus be worn? |
Breathing apparatus shall be worn by all personnel when: - the atmosphere is hazardous - the atmosphere is suspected of being hazardous - the atmosphere may become hazardous - MFS policies specify - directed by the IC - working in a confined space or where access and egress are a concern to the IC
In addition to SCBA, IC shall consider the use of : - full body harnesses - rescue lines - atmospheric monitors / detectors |

What is stage one entry control? |
- used for initial get to work, IC to initiate stage two ASAP. - maximum 4 wearers (pump operator is ECO) - is / may also be used for OVERHAUL or similar situations |

What is stage two entry control? |
- maximum 10 wearers (5 teams of 2) plus 2 relief workers - dedicated ECO |

Describe the maintenance procedures for SCBA sets |
Maintenance A - when taking over a SCBA set
Maintenance B - after using SCBA - to be completed asap after use
Maintenance C - carried out by BA techs only, and to manufacturers specs |
