Mycobacterium tuberculosis is an aerobic bacteria that is slowing growing bacterium and resistant to drying. On inhalation mycobacteria are phagocytosed by aveolar macrophages. Mycobacteria have a coating which prevents phagosome lysosome fusion There fore it can survive within the phagosome inside the macrophage. |
