Disease that produces increased cellularity, subepithelial deposits, hyperplasia, with NO thickening of glomerulus
Acute proliferative glomerulonephritis
Pts most susceptible to acute prolif GN.
children 1-4 weeks after strep throat or impetigo
Pathophysiology of acute proliferative GN.
immune complex (Type III) trapping within glomeruli followed by leukocytic infiltration and eventual degradation.
Serum findings in post-strep acute prolif GN.
ASO elevation
Complement decreased
azotemia
Describe crescentic glomerulonephritis.
crescent shaped proliferation of PARIETAL epithelial cell (not in glomerulus)
Three classifications of RPGN
1) Anti-GBM
2) Immune complex mediated disease
3) Pauci-immune glomerulonephritis
