Land Immediately:
- Land on the nearest clear area
- Where a safe / normal landing can be performed
- Be prepared to Auto
Land As Soon As Practical:
- Land at nearest Airport or Facility
- Where emergency maintainence can be performed
Power Failure General:
May be caused either by:
- Engine failure or
- Drive system failure

Engine Failure:
- Change In Noise Level
- Left nose yaw
- Oil pressure light
- Decreasing engine RPM

Drive System Failure:
- Unusual noise
- Right/Left nose yaw
- Decreasing rotor RPM
- Increasing engine RPM
Power Failure at 500'+ AGL:
1. Lower Collective to maintain rotor RPM
2. Establish a steady glide - 65 KIAS
3. Adjust Collective to keep Rotor RPM In green arc
4. Select landing spot into wind
5. Restart attempt at Pilot discretion
6. No Restart:
- Turn Off all unnecessary switches
- Shut off fuel
7. At 40' AGL
- Start cyclic flare to reduce rate of decent & FWD airspeed
8. At 8' AGL
- FWD cyclic to level ship
9. Raise Collective Just before Impact to cushion landing

NOTE: - Touchdown In level attitude, nose straight
What is the Restart Procedure:
*Restart Procedure*
- Mixture full rich
- Primer down & locked
- Throttle closed, then slightly cracked
- Actuate starter with left hand
Power Failure Between 8' & 500' AGL:
1. Takeoff should be conducted per Height / Velocity Diagram
2. Immediate down collective to maintain rotor RPM
3. Adjust Collective to keep rotor RPM in green arc
4. Maintain airspeed until ground approaches
5. As ground approaches:
- Start cyclic fare to reduce rate of decent & FWD airspeed
6. At 8' AGL - FWD Cyclic to level Ship
9. Raise Collective Just before impact to cushion landing
Power Failure Below 8' AGL:
1. Immediate right pedal to prevent yaw

2. Allow aircraft to settle

3. Raise collective Just before Impact to cushion landing
Max Glide Configuration:
- 90% Rotor RPM
- 75 KIAS
Ditching - Power Off:
1. Follow same procedures as over land Power Failure
- Until water contact
2. Apply lateral cyclic to stop blades
3. Release seat belts
4. Clear aircraft
Ditching - Power On:
1. Descend to hover above water
2. Unlatch doors
3. Allow passengers to Exit
4. Fly to safe distance for passengers
5. Switch Off
- Master battery switch
- Alternator
6. Roll off throttle
7. Keep level / allow aircraft to settle
8. Pull full collective on water contact
9. Apply lateral cyclic to stop blades
10. Release seat belts
11. Clear aircraft
Loss Of Tail Rotor Thrust - In Forward Flight:
- Indicated by a right nose yaw
- Can not be corrected by left pedal

1. Immediately enter autorotation
2. Maintain at least 70 KIAS
3. Select landing site
4. Roll off throttle
5. Perform autorotation landing
Loss Of Tail Rotor Thrust - During Hover:
- Indicated by a right nose yaw
- Can not be corrected by left pedal

1. Roll off throttle
2. Allow aircraft to settle
3. Raise collective Just before impact to cushion landing
Engine Fire - During Start (Ground):
- Continue cranking

*Engine Start*
- Run @ 50% To 60% for a short time
- Shut Down
- Inspect

*No Engine Start*
- Shut off Fuel
- Shut off Master Battery
- Extinguish / Inspect
Engine Fire - In Flight:
- Immediately enter Auto
- Master Battery: Off
- Cabin Heat: Off
- Cabin Vent: Open

*Engine On*
- Normal Landing
- Shut off Fuel
- Extinguish
- Inspect

*Engine Off*
- Shut off fuel
- Execute autorotation landing
- Extinguish / Inspect
Electrical Fire - In Flight:
- Master Battery: Off
- Alternator: Off
- Land Immediately
- Extinguish / Inspect

NOTE:
- No Governor
- No Low RPM Warning System w/ Master Batt & Alt off
Tach Failure:
1 Of 2 Tachs Fail:
- Use remaining Tach

Both Tachs Fail:
- Use Governor
- Land As Soon As Practical
Governor Failure:
- Grip Throttle Firmly
- Switch Gov. Off
- Complete Flight w/ Manual Throttle Control
Oil Pressure Light:
- Check engine tach for power loss
- Check oil pressure gage
- If lost oil pressure - land Immediately
Clutch Light:
Less Than 10 Seconds:
- Ignore

Flickering or light on for more than 10 Seconds:
- Pull clutch circuit beaker
- Land as soon as practical

If other indication of drive system failure
- Reduce power
- Land immediately
- Be prepared to enter autorotation
