Mestizo
A person of mixes Spanish and Indigenous blood

Pipiltin
The noble class. Occupied positions in the government, army and priesthood. Referred to as the Kings.
Chichimeca
Those indigenous people who inhabited the north of Mexico and the Southwest of what is now the United States. Resisted the new "Spanish Rule"
Mexica
Now referred to as Aztecs. Indigenous people of the Valley of Mexico. Founded Tenochtitlan, which now is Mexico City.

Believed Americanization was important for Mexican-Americans to have full rights. Assimilation ideology. Organization was too concerned with scholarships and fiestas.
Repatriation
Getting rid of unwanted aliens. During the short and severe recession and during the Stock-Market Crash. New Deal forced Mexicanos to voluntarily repatriate. A continuing cycle that is occurring today.
PASSO
Aggressive in their demands. Attempted to build a national organization to encourage Mexican-Americans to run for office.
