accept (risk response)
A risk response to a threat; a conscious decision is made not to
carry out any countermeasures to either lower the probability or lower the impact of an
event, possibly because the costs and time to do so outweigh the likely impact of the risk.
The threat should continue to be monitored to ensure that it remains tolerable.
acceptance
A formal acknowledgment by the ultimate client or the operational or
maintenance teams that a product or set of products meets their acceptance criteria. After
the acknowledgment has been given, responsibility for the products passes from the project
management team to the client or the operational or maintenance teams.
acceptance criteria
A set of measurable, prioritized characteristics that the project’s main
deliverables must meet in order for them to be signed off by the ultimate client or the
operational or maintenance teams.
