Facilitates transmitter release [also amphetamine] --> incr. NE released --> incr symp activity.

If pt takes MAOI w/ cheese --> tyramine effects intensified --> possible stroke (marked incr BP)

exerts marked stimulant effect on mood, alertness, also an appetite depressant
