Healthy, active lifestyle

PAR-Q
A physical activity readiness questionnaire, this is a series of questions that should be asked before engaging in increased levels of physical activity to ensure there are not health issues that should be taking into account when planning intensity of exercise
Principles of training
A set of ideas/values that should be followed in order to make training effective
Target Zone
this provides the range of heart rate values the performer should work within in order for training intensity to be effective
Recovery rate
this is the amount of time it takes for the heart rate to return to 'normal' resting level after excerise

Nutrients that are required in large quantities in our diet, e.g. carbohydrates

Nutrients that are required in small quantities in our diet, e.g. minerals

Vasoconstriction or vasodilation of blood vessels to alter rate of blood flow through them to control quantities of blood going to different parts of the body,

Contraction of the muscular wall of the arteriole to reduce blood flow through the vessel

Relation of the muscular wall of the arteriole to increase the blood flow through the vessel
