There are no differences between prescriptions for humans or animals.


How much notice must an auditing entity give a pharmacy before conducting an onsite audit?

Two weeks before conducting the initial onsite audit. This must be in the form of a written document. This document must also contain items of discovery such as a checklist.


What are the limitations of an on-site audit?

An audit may not be initiated or scheduled during the first five calendar days of any month.


The pharmacy shall be supplied with written report on the audit in preliminary form with in 90 days.


The pharmacy shall be given 30 days to produce support documentation.


The final audit delivered within 180 days signed by the auditors.

The product shall not contain ingredients that exceeds recommended strengths or doses of OTC drugs.
