High Value Target vs. High Payoff Target |
High Value Target: A target the enemy commander requires for the successful completion of the mission. High Payoff Target: A target whose loss to the enemy will significantly contribute to the success of the friendly course of action. High payoff targets are those high-value targets must be acquired and successfully attacked for the success of the friendly commander's mission. |

Three War-Gaming Techniques |
Belt: Divides AO in belts running the width of the AO. Works best offense/defense in well defined cross-compartments or phased operations. Avenue in Depth: Focuses on one avenue of approach at a time, beginning with the Decisive Operation. Good for Offense, or canalized defense. Box: Detailed analysis of a critical area (EA, wet gap crossing, landing zone). Best in time constrained or noncontiguous AOs. |

Define NAI and Indicators |
The geographical area where information that will satisfy a specific information requirement can be collected. An indicator is an item of information which reflects the intention or capability of an enemy to adopt or reject a COA. (ex: establish BP or obstacles, armored vehicles, engineer assets...) |
