What is light?

Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation that can be seen by our eyes.

What are the properties of light?

1. Light always travels in straight lines, and never bends.

2. Light can be reflected.

What is refraction?

Refraction is when light travels into a substance of a different density. It slows down as it travels into a higher density, and and speeds up as it travels into a less dense subject.

What is the law of reflection?

The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.

What is a lens?

A transparent solid that refracts light to focus it to a point in front or behind.

What is a concave lens?

A lens shaped )( that diverges light. It creates a virtual image in front of the lens.

What is a convex lens?

A lens shapes () that converges light. It creates a real image in front of the lens.

What is the difference between transparent translucent and opaque?

1. A transparent substance does not absorb or reflect light, and it allows all light to pass through.

2. A translucent substance allows some light to pass through but not all, creating a detail-less image.

3. Opaque objects all of the light, making a solid object.

What is total internal reflection?

When light refracts at an angle that contains the light ray within the object.
