History of Shotokan Karate Do

Karate is a means of self-defense. Derived from the 2,000 year old of Chinese from of boxing, Kung Fu or Kempo. China and Japan experienced a culture contact in 1600 resulting in martial arts Okinawa-te, later called Karate (empty hands).
