Explain that homeostasis involoves monitoring levels of variables and correcting changes in levels by negative feedback mechanisms.
If body temp falls below 37 degrees Celcius, then messages are sent by the hypothalamus to different parts of the body so temperature is increased to normal. Contrastly if body temp. rises, mesages sent decreased body temp to normal. Therefore, a change in a varibale is counteracted by the opposite change to a noraml tmeperature.

Type Two is onset after childhood. Insulin injections aren't effective to control condition. Low-carb diet is effective. Increasingly common in the U.S. Target cells are insensitive to insulin.
