Value Stream Maps are diagrams of the work flow through a facility. They distinguish between work that adds value for the customer and work that doesn't.


Think of the VSM to be the playbook. The VSM determines Who does What, Where, and in which order.

Make it obvious to everyone if a process is on or off standard. Visual cues are everywhere. Examples are blue flags, blue lights,pitch charts, 2-bin floor stock, foam cutouts in toolboxes, and -on lights, etc...
