2.) How are power wealth and prestige factors in determining your social class?

In the 1950s, C. Wright Mills coined the term "power elite," referring to the top people in U.S. Society who make the nation's major decisions. People like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, etc. have major influence in our country and are part of the highest social class of capitalists.

2.) part 2

In order to belong to this class, you generally need 3 things; power, wealth and prestige. Individuals who have prestigious careers are not only held in high regard but often are very wealthy. This wealth allows them privileges not many have access to, such as expensive educations for their children, living in large homes in nice neighborhoods etc.

2.) part 3

Privileges such as these such as these allow them to socialize with others of this higher class and form connections with those with power. All of these things contribute to a person's own power, or their ability to carry out their will.

2.) part 4

Power increases with a person's wealth, prestige, and connections. Together, these things allow a person to become part of the highest social class and greatly influence our society.
