Stage 1:
(0-1) Goal is to gain trust w.o completely eliminating mistrust. Will develop hope and faith. Too much mistrust will lead to withdrawal: characterized by depression, paranoia, etc. Too much trust will result in: overly trusting, gullible, etc. (To get or to give in return)
Stage 2:
(2-3) Goal is to gain autonomy while minimizing shame and doubt. Will develop will and determination. Too much shame and doubt will lead to compulsion. (To hold on, to let go)
Stage 3:
(3-6) Goal is to develop initiative while minimizing guilt. Will gain purpose and courage. Too much initiative and too little guilt can lead to ruthlessness. Too much guilt will lead to inhibition i.e. person will try not to try new things b/c “nothing ventured or nothing lost”
Stage 4:
(7-12) Goal is to industry (know what you want but don’t step over people) and minimize inferiority. Will gain competence. Too much industry leads to Narrow Virtuosity a child protégé. Too much inferiority will lead to inertia  first don’t succeed, don’t try again.
Stage 5:
(12-18) Goal is to gain ego-identity while avoiding role-confusion. Will develop fidelity and loyalty. Too much ego-identity will lead to fanaticism believing his way is the only way. A lack of ego-identity will lead to repudiation they deny their role in the world of adults and deny their need for an identity. i.e. some will fuse themselves to join a cult which will tell them their identity
Stage 6:
(20s) Goal is to gain intimacy and avoid isolation. Too much intimacy will lead to promiscuity being too intimate too freely w/o any depth in relationship. Too much isolation will lead to exclusion. Will gain Love.
Stage 7
20s to 50s) Have a good balance of generativity- an extension of love in the future (concern for next generation) and stagnantion- self-absorption, caring for no one (some ppl will be so generative that they will have no time for themselves) Too little or too much stagnation and you will have rejectivity.
