Activated Charcoal

Adenosine

Antidsyrhythmic: used to SVT


Immediate onset, lasts ten seconds


Don't give in drug-induced tachycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree AV blocks, sensitivity to adenosine, flutter, A-fib, ot v-tach


Caffiiene antagonizes adenosine


Dosage:


-adult: 6mg rapid IV bolus, followed by 10 cc flush, follwoed by a 12 mg push if no change


-ped: 0.1mg/kg initial dose (up to 6mg) second dose of 0.2mg/kg (up to 12mg)

Albuterol

Sympathomimetic, bronchodilator, beta2 agonist


Relaxes smooth muscles in the bronchial tree and peripheral vasculature by stimulating adrenegic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system


Onset of 5-8 mins after inhalation, and lasts about 2-6 hours


Relief of bronchospasm in patients, anaphylaxis, and hyperkalemia


Contraindications include sensitivity
