What is the project manual and what are its 4 major parts?

a book with all the contract and non-contract documents for a construction project (except drawings and the agreements)

4 major parts includes (1) bidding requirements (if needed), (2) parts of the contract itself like owner-contractor agreement, bond forms, etc, (3) general and supplementary conditions of the contract, (4) technical specifications.

What are the 3 major parts of each particular specification section?

Part 1 gives general requirements for the section; Part 2 details the specifications for the materials and products themselves; Part 3 tells how the products and materials are to be installed, applied, or otherwise put into place

Where are sustainability issues addressed in the specifications?

Division 1 General Requirements with a summery of environmental goals and special requirements for the contractor, required submittals, MSDS sheets, tests and procedures, list of information sources, packaging requirements; and in Individual Technical Sections in part 2 products.

What items need to be coordinated between the construction drawings and specifications?

specs should contain requirements for all materials and construction on drawings; terminology should be the same; dimensions and thicknesses should only be on one document (typ. sizes on drawings, material standards and component sizes in specs); methods of installation on specs. Specs take precedent to drawings.
