Explain why The U.S. has three branches of govt.?
So that not one branch has all the power. The branches can check each other to make sure they don't have too much power or are being unjust. They had to place limits on the government's power by explaining what the gov't can NOT do.
Explain what civil rights are and give two ex. of civil rights you have.
rights: The rights of citizens to political and social freedom & equality. Two rights I have: The pursuit of happiness & The right to life.
-Pursuit of Happiness: It gives you freedom to pursue choices that give you pleasure, satisfaction, & self-fulfillment, as long as you don't break any laws in the process.
-Right to life: More than matter of walking & breathing. Involves making choices about how you're going to live. Choosing a career, where you want to live, and how you want to live, who you want to marry, and how many children you want . Right to life is about personal decisions
