Bone marrow

What is lymph?

Colourless fluid that originates from intercellular fluid (tissue fluid)

What is bone marrow

Jelly-like tissue found in central shaft of certain bones, including thigh and pelvic bones. All blood cells develop from bone marrow stems cells.

Why are bone marrow stem cells multi potent?

Because they can develop into all types of blood cells

What are lymph nodes

Small, bean-shaped structures found in throat, armpits, groin, abdomen & chest.


Filter & trap foreign material and are sites where antigens are usually presented to the immune system.

Mucosal associated lymphoid tissue (MALT)

Small concentrations of lymph tissue (tonsils, adenoids) in body that secrete mucus: eyelids, mouth, nose& respiratory, digestive & female reproductive systems.
