What is a competitive inhibitor?

An inhibitor which binds to the active site of the enzyme

What is a non competitive inhibitor?

An inhibitor which binds to the enzyme at a position other than the active site.

Competitive inhibitors can occupy the active site, how?

They have a molecular shape similar to that of the substrate.

Why does concentration of comp-inhibitor and substrate matter?

The concentration determines the effect of enzyme activity, the more substrates, the reduced effect of the comp-inhibitor , inhibitors not permanently bound and a substrate or inhibitor can take its place , concentration determines that.
