Explain the fueltanks |
Two tanks, interconnected by a flange. Bladder type held with velcro and nylon chord. Fuel is always balanced untill 228 Kg is left in both tanks. |
What houses the sump plate |
A booster pump Secondary fuel quantity probe with a low level sensor A drain valve An electrical waterdrainvalve |
Total fuel capacity? |
1588 l 1270 Kg |
How is the fuel level measured? |
By two mainprobes from full to 400KG Two secondary probes from 400 to empty |
When is the FUEL LOW activated? |
At 92 Kg remaining in that tank |
Explain the fuel distribution |
Two boosterpumps deliver fuel to the fuel manifold. Before the manifold a pressureswitch for opening the crossfeed. A oneway checkvalve prevents fuel to be able to return to the tank.
The manifold houses: Two shut off valves and one Xfeed Two pressure transducer measure fuelpress after the SOV From here the fuel is delivered to the engine |
How is the fuelflow determined? |
The EEC calculates it from Idle (Ng above 62%) in conjuction with ADS TAS data |
Explain the FCU |
Fuel Computer Unit: Monitors quantity Procides exitation current to measure level and converts it in to KG Sends fuel quantity to MAU 1 and 2 Two independend Low level Detector is connected to two Low Level Sensor (thermister type at 92Kg) |
Important fuel figures: |
Full 1270 (2x635) From 800 (2x400) secondary part 228 residual for each tank only (non transferrable) 92 fuel low 8kg unused. |
When is the fuel oresented in a grey schale? |
When unusable: 228 or less with xfeed open and 1 BP on. |
What is xfeed logic in “NORM” |
2 BP: Closed 1 BP: open 0 BP: open |
What does the ventline and the flame arrestor do? |
Ventline is connected to the opposite side to prevent leaks on roll over |
What is are the test for the fuelsystem? |
Start up BIT Continuous BIT On ground full BIT of 6 sec |
What happens with an FCU fail? |
The onside fuel cannot be measured so the total cannot be calculated. LLD still works. Untill 228 Kg the fuel can be doubled roughly. |
Explain the possible CAS captions |
