Nociceptors

Perception

When a particular part of the sensory cortex interprets the sensory stimulation.

Sensory adaptation

The adjustment of sensory receptors toto a continuous stimulation. Impulses are triggered at slower rates.

Exteroreceptive senses

Interoceptive (visceroceptive) senses

Are associated with changes in viscera.

Proprioceptive senses

Are associated with changes in muscles and tendons and in a body position.

The receptors for the sensation of light touch.

Sensitive to temperatures above 25°c (77°f) and unresponsive to temp above 45°c (113°f)
