Colonial John Chivington slaughtered 450 Cheyenne and Arapaho men woman and children who thought they were being protected by the US.
Fetterman Massacre
Soldiers under Cpt. WJ Fetterman were ambushed by a group of Soix and all 92 troopers were killed.
Little Big Horn (Custer's Last Stand)
1. Soix, under Chief "crazy horse" and Chief "sitting bull" tried to hold back the flood of gold rushers in their indian reservation.
2. Cluster and 264 troopers were trapped at little big horn river.
3. All were killed and the Soix were left conquerers and leaderless.
Chief Joseph
Led his people safely to canada-300 warriors vs Us army trecked 1300 miles- then they were attacked by Us and surrendered.
Wounded Knee
S Dakota-Killed Chief Sitting Bull and soldiers killed 200 UNARMED indians

Dawes Act (1887)
Divided up the indian reservation land and assigned each family to a 160-acre farm. After 25 years they would have title to land and be US citizens. Effort to "americanize" or assimilate indians.
