Air Force Song

(Verse I)

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,

Climbing high into the sun

Here they come zooming to meet our thunder

At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun!

(Give'er the gun! Hey!)

Down we dive, spouting our flame from underOff with one helluva roar!

We live in fame or go down in flame, Hey!

Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!

(Verse II)

Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunder

Sent it high into the blue

Hands of men blasted the world a-sunder

How they lived God only knew!

(God only knew! Then!)

Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquer

Gave us wings, ever to soar!

With scouts before And bombers galore, Hey!

Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

(Bridge)

(whispered) Here's a toast, to the host, of those who love the vastness of the sky,

To a friend, we send, a message of his brother men who fly.

We drink, to those, who gave their all of old.

Then down we roar,

(shouted) to score the rainbow's pot of gold.

A toast, to the host, of men we boast,
the U.S. Air Force!

(Verse III)

Off we go into the wild sky yonder,

Keep the wings level and true.

If you'd live to be a grey-haired wonder,

Keep the nose out of the blue!

(Outta the Blue! Boy!)

Flying men, guarding the nation's border,

we'll be there followed by more!

In echelon we carry on, Hey!

Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!

I am an American,

fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life.

I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

Second Article of the Air Force Code of Conduct

I will never surrender of my own free will.

If in command,

I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.

Third Article of the Air Force Code of Conduct

If I am captured,

I will continue to resist by all means available.

I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape.

I will accept neither parole,

nor special favors from the enemy.

Fourth Article of the Air Force Code of Conduct

If I become a prisoner of war,

I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners.

I will give no information,

or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades.

If I am senior, I will take command.

If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me,

and will back them up in every way.

Fifth Article of the Air Force Code of Conduct

When questioned,

should I become a prisoner of war,

I am required to give name, rank, service number and date of birth.

I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability.

I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country,

and its allies or harmful to their cause.

Sixth Article of the Air Force Code of Conduct

I will never forget that I am an American,

fighting for freedom,

responsible for my actions,

I will trust in my God,

and in the United States of America.

Quote by General Robert E. Lee

"Duty then is the sublimest word in the English language.

You should do your duty in all things.

You can never do more.

You should never wish to do less."

Quote by General Joseph L. Collins

"The American people rightly look to their military leaders to be not only skilled in the technical aspects of the profession of arms,

but to be men of integrity."

Quote by General Omar Bradley

"Leadership is intangible;

therefore, no weapon ever designed can replace it."

Quote by General Nathan Twining

"If our air forces are never used,

they have achieved their finest goal."

Quote by General Dwight D. Eisenhower

"If I didn't have air supremacy,

I wouldn't be here."

Quote by General Ulysses S. Grant

"In every battle,

there comes a time when both sides consider themselves beaten;

then he who continues the attack wins."

Quote by John Stuart Mill

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things.

The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling,

which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse.

The person, who has nothing for which he willing to fight,

nothing which is more important than his own personal safety,

is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free,

unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Quote by General Charles A. Gabriel, Chief of Staff, USAF

"Integrity is the fundamental premise for military service in a free society.

Without integrity,

the moral pillars of our military strength,

public trust,

and self-respect are lost."

Quote by Father Denis Edward O'Brian, Sergeant, USMC

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag,

who serves beneath the flag,

and whose coffin is draped by the flag,

who allows the protestor to burn the flag."

--Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC

Quote by Alfred Thayer Mahan

"War, once declared, must be waged offensively, aggressively.

The enemy must not be fended off; but smitten down.

You may then spare him every exaction,

relinquish every gain,

but 'til then he must be struck incessantly and remorselessly."

Quote by General Daniel S. "Chappie" James, USAF

"The power of excellence is overwhelming.

It is always in demand,

and nobody cares about its color."

Quote by Brigadier General Jeannie M. Leavitt, USAF

“Gender, race, religion, none of that matters. What matters is how you perform."

Quote by Major Lisa Jaster, USA

“There’s no quitting, I can’t have quit in me. There was never an option to stop and quit.”

Quote by Italian Air Marshall Guilio Douhet

"Victory smiles upon those who anticipate the changes in the character of war,

not upon those who wait to adapt themselves after the changes occur."

Quote by General Norman Schwarzkopf

"The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war."
