When I was younger we used to go to Story Land. I would ride the teacups and twisting turtles until I got sick. I was going into fifth grade now and my dad and I both agreed I was getting a bit too old to be going to story land. My siblings Molly, Maeve and Ryan all wanted to go. We had agreed my mom would take them and my dad and I would do something together. But what to do? “Mt. I felt as though I had no control over my still aching legs as I carefully climbed down the rocks. Tuckerman’s Ravine was shaped like a bowl, one wrong step and you were as good as dead. I looked as though God had gone to the mountain and made a circle with his hands on the side. Its greatness awed me.
After a fair amount of pictures were taken of me pretending to fall of we began the hike down. The mountain gradually went from the cold, bare top, to the luscious green forests of New Hampshire. I now fully understood why it was called the green mountain state.
After walking down for quite a while, we decided to take a break. I found the perfect spot to rest. There was a clearing of trees and a rock shaped like a couch. I sat there and just stared out at the endless mountains, admiring the spectacular view of nature. A cool summer breeze blew through, carrying the smell of pine with it. Climbing Mt. Washington has become sort of a tradition that my dad and I enjoy together. Whenever we take a family trip to New Hampshire, the hike is guaranteed. Now everyone's too old for storyland and my siblings usually go shopping or something. I still love it all the same. We usually change which trails we hike to spice it up a bit. The hikes have ranged from scenic and sunny, to steep and rainy. These trips relieve my stress and expose me to nature. I had never really enjoyed hiking for fun before this, but now I hike with my dog in the Fells every week-end. This memory is significant to me because it introduced me to the beauty of
