Luxuries Versus Necessities In today’s generation, people mislead the value of their luxuries over their necessities, rather than vice versa. There is multitudinous amount of luxuries that people value more than their necessities. There are also many ways as to how this topic refers to transcendentalism. To begin, most luxuries that people uphold higher than their everyday necessities, are those of little importance. For example, a phone is the most common luxury that is held at a higher appraisal than everyday needs. Although, phones are easily accessible for emergency purposes, they do not come from a source of nature in which we need to survive. Another example would be a guitar. Sunsets are known to be one of the most peaceful, romantic, and relaxing things to experience. There is many observations that I have took note of to grasp the concept of transcendentalism. To begin, I went to the top of the hill in a field that my family owns. While the view was miraculous, the sunset was breathtaking. It was slow, but bright at the same time. The wind brushed my skin, giving me a sense of overwhelment and peace. The clouds looked like pink cotton candy floating in the sky. The pine trees slowly became a dark green and brown. Overall, the senses and sights that were seen that day, are transcendental in every way. In addition to, seeing the sun set below the horizon, made me realize somethings about myself. Maybe, as humans we should get out to experience moments like these. These moments are precious and breathtaking. Rather than looking up a silly photo of a sunset, why not enjoy the real deal? For example, I watched as the birds found their aerie. The experience was beautiful and relaxing as it set the appropriate mood for the setting. As I inhaled the neoteric, cold air, I was hit with a wave of emotions. I released tears that I had bottled up and it felt great. Nature is like a mother.
