Thomas and Kilmann (1974) synthesize the strategic solution of a conflict in a matrix: withdrawal (I give up - you win), numbness (I let you win), compromise (a little you win, win at you win too). The first is the loss-loss based on inter-individual competition or the win-loss strategy is the win-win strategy based on inter-individual cooperation (Newstrom, 1993).
