C3. Recommend three theory-based practices to maximize the success of the leader One of the theory based practice the VP Compliance Manager can practice is building trust. She can build trust in many forms for instance practice openness, be fair, speak her feelings, tell the truth, show consistency, fulfill promises, maintain confidences and demonstrate competence (Robbins, 2005, pp. 174-175). This in turn would foster a positive work environment and increase productivity to achieve task goals. Additionally, building trust will facilitate setting motivating goals. As trust is built in groups this would lead to group motivation. Group motivation provides the inspiration, incentives, and reason that move group members to work together in order to achieve a common goal (Wynn & Engleberg, 2007, pp. 294-296).

The second theory based she can practice is organization development. According to Daft organization development, (OD), is a planned, systematic process of change that uses behavioral science technique

As conflict management entails appropriate strategy it is crucial to understand the group’s conflict before applying one of the following models: A-E-I-O-U, negotiation, mediation, and arbitration (Wynn & Engleberg, 2007, pp. 182-187). For example applying the A-E-I-O-U model is a way to clearly communicate concerns and suggest alternative actions to achieve the department goals, help decreased job satisfaction, and address perception distortions (Wynn & Engleberg, 2007, pp. 184-185). However, it must be noted that not all conflict is negative since some conflict such as task conflict relates to the content and goals of the work support and improves performance as functional conflict (Robbins, 2005, p. 195). As the leader of our department improving her conflict management would aide in achieving our departmental goals as she is a situational leader with room in improvement on focus on people
