Language development is a learnt behaviour within children and the more interaction a child receives will develop earlier sounds and communication and language skills with the introduction of sounds and words that are simple as the children reach toddling age that are easy to understand and is able to use the words with context e.g. sheep but the child may be able to say but not understand the object so personally I believe that the children need to be shown a visual object as you begin to communicate more complex words and sentences, I believe that giving children variety of activities such as reading, singing and even encouraging the children to eat at lunchtimes will introduce early movement within the mouth and encourage further and on…
After completing this assignment, I’ve learned several ways to adapt to the children and help them succeed to the best of their abilities by helping them take responsibility and become more independent. I plan to use this information to shape my interactions with children when I become a teacher. I will definitely be taking into consideration of the children who are not fully developed yet and need more help interacting with others and doing things on their own. Along with this, encouraging conversation between students can help them develop and see the role of language being used. I see this in my focus child through questioning, interrupting, and simply talking to her peers.…
Vanessa Junior has been passionate about language arts since the age of 6. She continues to show strength in that area. How I would help her in this area is that I would talk to Vanessa Junior as a baby, read to her, and bring her to different social occasions so people could interact with her. My observation is that she continues to do well in language arts because of the activities I do with her to improve her literacy skills. Vanessa Junior has had an interest in science since being a little girl.…
Oral language development refers to the process and stages a child will go through while learning to communicate through spoken words. This process occurs over many years and varies from child to child. Oral language skills begin to develop in babies as they listen to the people around them speak and eventually the child will begin to use language on their own. How quickly a child’s vocabulary grows is greatly influenced by how much the parents talk to their child; however sometimes other factors can be involved such as a mental or a learning disability. Oral language development is critical because it is the foundation of literacy development.…

Azlynn did exceptionally well at staying focus and on task throughout our weeks together. She was very shy at first and it took some time in her opening up to me. On the first day together I shared about myself so that she could get to know me better as a person. Once I did that and with each day we were together she opened up more and more. Once she got comfortable enough she liked to talk about what she was going to do after school that day and after every few sentences of reading I would have to ask her to stay focused and get back on track.…
When it came to behavior, Mrs. Laura was able to allow the child to express their feelings so she could better understand why they are acting that way. Competency Statement IV To establish positive and productive relationships with families Functional Area 11: Families Promoting a family environment for children is important for them to feel comfortable and confident while learning. Differentiated Lesson Design: Every week I would come up with a lesson plan that I believed would benefit Azlynn. I wanted the lesson to be based around what I thought she needed to work on the most. Each week we mainly rehearsed the same techniques. Before learning a new technique we needed to understand the one before. I would always model the correct usage of the technique and then we would practice it together.…
