The purpose of this study is to examine the knowledge of dental health care professionals on different tobacco products and its uses. The importance of this study is to promote dental care professionals to be more comfortable with guiding patients with tobacco cessation, whether from cigarettes or additional tobacco products. By promoting education, this could broaden their knowledge and help aid patients’ in quitting. It is researched that smoking can link to multiple diseases— including oral health problems such as periodontal disease, oral malignancies, and dental decay. This study also assesses effects of oral hygiene habits with the risk of occurrence oral cancer with patients who uses tobacco versus those who don’t. This study discussed some statistics of oral cancer. Tobacco usage and alcohol intake are some risk factors for oral cancer. They had several methods for collecting data, which includes obtaining medical records, face-to-face interviews, and giving intraoral examinations.
