November 19th, 2014 Introduction
The purpose of this case report is to understand the relationship between oral health, systemic diseases and patients in transition into adulthood. Miss C. is a young adult who is going through a transition while dealing with depression, anxiety, poor health behaviors and systemic diseases resulting in generalized erosion, generalized stains and rampant dental caries.

Dental History
Miss C.’s last comprehensive dental hygiene care was in 2011 when her father’s insurance was still active. The patient reported that she brushes in the morning and tries to brush at night when she remembers; uses a manual toothbrush, does not floss, and does not use antibacterial rinse or any other auxiliary aid for oral care. Patient had numerous amalgam restorations restored when she was young; and has moderate anxiety for dental treatment.
Family History
Grandparents have a combine history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Parents are divorced; Mother also has a history of anxiety and depression.
Social History
Miss C. was the valedictorian at her high school and was in her high school varsity volleyball team. She completed one year of college at Baruch College before taking a leave earlier in the year. Currently employed at an entry-level office job in Midtown Manhattan; works full-time. Has tried tobacco products, smokes occasionally when she is depressed; drinks alcohol occasionally when “hanging out with friends,” patient is underage.
Nutrition
