Creation Vs. Evolution Debate

In our day and age, the debate on creation vs evolution is a debate that you will hear a lot in our society. Within my 15 years on this earth, there is a question which I continuously see popping up in my head. “What is the truth?”. The more and more I thought about this question, the harder it became to answer. I would over-think the whole concept, and start pondering ridiculous theories. And after all that thinking, I could never bring myself to come to an exact answer. They say seeing is believing. But in this case, seeing is beyond the bounds of possibility. Although evolution and creation are completely different theories, they do have one thing in common. They both got us to where we are today. So, what is the truth? Evolution or Creation? …show more content…
Evolution is the change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms through successive generations. After a population splits into smaller groups, these groups evolve independently and may eventually diversify into new species. The main central idea is that life has a history which has slowly adapted and developed over a long period of time. Although, saying this, there are actually several different types of Evolutionists--Naturalistic and Theistic. The naturalistic evolutionists believe that the world/universe began around 14 billion years ago and the earth is around 4.5 billion years old. Another type of evolutionist is called "deists". They believe that God created the universe, but then at some point he stopped creating and allowed natural processes to originate life and drive evolution. Compared to Evolution, Creation is on the complete opposite of the spectrum. Evolution is based on facts, whereas creation is typically based on the belief that life, the Earth, and the universe were created by a very famous supernatural being, who goes by the name of 'God'. This belief is also commonly known as Intelligent Creation. It may be shocking to learn, but a recent poll of the National Academy of Science found that 95% of biologists are either agnostic or atheists. In our day and age, Evolution is being taught as an unquestionable fact which is being used to explain the origin of life and the evolution of Man without …show more content…
Which to this day is known as Day and Night. In Genesis 1 God says, "And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds and all the animals, domestic and wild, large and small." So, God created human beings, making them to be like himself. Thus, leading into the story of Adam and Eve who were offered the tree of life, but instead chose the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil. Paul, the apostle, tried explaining that it was through the first man (Adam) that sin entered the world. The first book of the Bible shows the beginning of the universe and all its inhabitance. In chapters 1-2 of Genesis, in the opening verses, we are introduced God and how he is the creator. When God created the earth, we called it "Creation Week". And on the seventh day God ended His work and concluded his acts of creation by resting. The story of creation shows the supremacy of God's superior intelligence and power. He had control over everything he has

From Lucretius, Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci, to Darwin, Smith and Lamarck, many Philosophers, artists, and scientists have produced theories of evolution in attempts to explain the living and non-living creatures around them. ‘Charles Darwin’s grandfather, Erasmus Darwin…”a British physician and poet… proposed that life had changed over time.” “The possibility of common descent based on changes undergone by animals during development…”Evolution is a fact, the theory of evolution explains how evolution works. Although, the theories of Creationism and Darwinism will always have their separate supporters, and most will never change sides no matter what evidence comes to light. I believe the evidence of evolution is all around us in the world with humans being the most obvious and…

Overview Evolution is a theory originally thought of by a man named Charles Darwin. Darwin was surveying the land around South America to make maps and then discovered the Galapagos Islands. He noticed on these islands there were 14 different types of finches within a small archipelago. He concluded from this that originally there was one kind of finch on all the islands, but they evolved from the original so they could survive on their respective islands (Evolution).…

In the very controversial topic of evolution and creationism there are times when both are censored and not taught in the class room, and other times when one may be left out of the classroom discussion. Evolution is “the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth” (“Evolution”). In contrast creationism is “the belief that the universe and living organisms originate from specific acts of divine creation, as in the biblical account, rather than by natural processes such as evolution” (“Creationism”). These ideas are both widely controversial for obvious reasons, evolution assumes there is no God because the universe began with a big bang and bacteria that evolved into life; meanwhile creationism is based off the idea that God had a hand in life and the creation of the Earth. Evolution is a widely accepted theory that has captured the mind of scientists and students alike.…

THE MYSTERY OF CREATION VERSUS EVOLUTION The birth of the universe has been a discussion of Religion and Science. There is, or rather seems to be a stalking difference between the two. Creation is, without a cast of doubt the most profound mystery in the cosmos. The greatest puzzle of all times is whether the universe came into being by some freak random chance or was it created by God who brought everything to being by a perfect design. Scientific evidences found in recent times show that four key forces that govern our universe are phenomenally tuned up so firmly that it's made many to arrive at the conclusion that something or somebody must have calibrated them.…

Does it make you uncomfortable when someone says “God isn’t real” or “evolution is completely fake”? What if you were taught these things were fact, and you had to believe them? Creationism is the religious belief that God or some inhuman power created the world. On the other hand, evolution is defined as the genetics of a species changing over time by various means. Neither creationism nor evolution should be taught as factual science and should not be indoctrinated into students, but can be taught as a theory and philosophy that should be viewed with scrutiny.…

Probably one of the most controversial subjects in today’s society and throughout the world is creation: How was the world created? Who, if any, created it, and how did humans beings get here? What makes these questions so debatable are a person’s belief or faith, or lack thereof. On one hand, many people believe in what the Bible says about creation, that God created the heavens, earth, and all living things; and on the other hand, others believe that the world was spontaneously created out of nothing, known as the big bang theory, and eventually human beings evolved, known as evolution.…

Some people believe or argue that the universe and life originated “from specific acts of divine creation” (“Creation Tips”). But, how can that be true when you have physical evidence such as Fossils, DNA, and natural selection? In theory, evolution is a more logical and believable argument than creationism because evidence such as fossils, DNA, and natural selection can support the theory much better than a book that has been translated into different languages. Evolution can be seen in almost every living thing,…

The tree of life is much different from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However, in Genesis, not much is continued about the tree of life and the focus is on the tree of knowledge. Chapter two in Roughgraden’s book continued with the idea of the single tree of life. I wanted to focus solely on the tree of life and chapter two inspired how I would look at this tree. The idea that all life is related and all creation is a part of one huge family tree is intriguing.…

Creationism Is Correct The beginning of all living things came from the creation of God, which is what creationists believe. Creationists say that science is of God, in a way, is true because God had created the whole universe and all the aspects of everything that is involved in it. B.A. Robinson (2011) states that God created all the kinds of each thing at the moment of creation (Robinson, 2011, pg. 1). This disproves the theory of evolution because evolution believes that every kind of living things came from a single cell that turned into a fish-like creature that eventually turned into a human after natural selection, and better mutations of the cell that came for the greater good of the creature.…
