Working as a therapist is a stressful job because you are dealing with others individual’s issues. In order for a therapist to avoid becoming stuck in theoretical framework the counselor needs to work with the proper theories. If the counselor is working with theories she does not understand she will get stuck and won’t know what to. As a therapist find the proper theories that will help deliver proper service where the client and therapist understand. Also if the therapist is not aware of the theory she/he should attend trainings to get familiar with the theories. If the therapist noticed she/he struggles when working with a theory then he/she should inform their supervisor that he/she needs additional training …show more content…
Like a mention earlier the field of a therapist is not easy. Therapist is there to help their client so they also need to help themselves by self-care. There are many self-cares that the therapist can used if they are constantly getting stuck. The therapist can get out of their office, and get a walk to distract themselves from the situation they are experiencing. Self-care is an important part of the therapist. If the therapist sees them self-getting stuck then they should also get therapy. Getting outside therapy will also work for the therapist because they are able to talk about the problem with someone else. Therapist should avoid getting burnout because if they feel burnout then they get stuck and they becomes depressed and they will not be able to deliver the proper service to their client. As we all entered the field of counselor we should do self-care at least three times a week so we can be able to help others. If a therapist does not take care of themselves how can they help others when they have their own issue?
