From the moment he was born, Frederick Douglass was a very special figure, he has inspired many throughout his life, and still manages to reach many today after his death, with his elegant writing and his influential speeches. Frederick Douglass was able to hold speeches and writings about his experiences, giving his contribution to the abolitionist movement, he faced slavery, racism, and overall unfairness from the government, and created many major speeches, writings, and newspapers that are still given credit to this day! After his second attempt, he was arrested and sent to Baltimore by his master to work in the city’s shipyards. Douglass became determined to reach New York and ultimately, freedom.” His unsuccessful attempts only made him stronger, as he was determined to escape slavery into the free state of New York. Throughout his time, Frederick Douglass was able to stay collective and calm, allowing him to strive, being able to share his views as an abolitionist, these setbacks that he faced allowed for him to grow a stronger mindset, thus becoming a very successful abolitionist, public speaker, and writer.
