What exactly is TikTok? TikTok is a social media platform that is used for creating and sharing short-form videos. TikTok is used by many teens and tweens of our generation. However, TikTok poses a significant threat to our youth. TikTok should be banned due to its significant negative impact on people and society, demonstrated through the promotion of dangerous trends, contributing to over consumerism, and posing threats to online safety.

The usage and spread of dangerous trends is quite a well-known issue in social media, however it is especially prominent in TikTok. There are many risky and dangerous challenges that are born and spread on TikTok. These vary from things such as the tooth filing trend, which involves a person literally filing down their teeth, to something as deadly as the blackout challenge, which involves a person literally choking either themselves or other people, in order to reach a state of euphoria.
