Mysteries of the Iceman tzi the iceman was stumbled upon by a pair of hikers in 1991 on the border of Italy and Austria with half his body beneath ice. He was found with different tools and equipment and was dead for a very long time before they found his body. His body was then examined by researchers and they were able to find many interesting things such as tattoos, injuries, fractured ribs, a missing rib, and something else in his body near his shoulder. tzi is still very mysterious to me and I have many questions about him. Five of those questions are how he died, what he was doing in the area that they found him in, how old he was when he died, what is the object they found inside of him, and do those tattoos on him mean anything important?

I think he was probably in his early 50’s when he died. In Figure 1 it shows what tzi could’ve looked like, you are able to see gray hair both on his beard and head. Typically men start to grow gray hair in their 30’s and as you can see tzi has plenty of gray hair which you can easily see which means he is over 30 years old. This supports my claim that tzi was in his early 50’s. But the people researching tzi actually found out he was about 45 years old when he died, which disproves my claim about him being in his early 50’s when he died. Figure 1 - The.
