Friedman (2005) described how technology and the fall of trade barriers have led to the integration of markets and nations, companies, and nation-states to reach around the world faster and cheaper than ever before. The evidence of this interconnectedness in our lives is seen every day—from the food we eat to the coffee we drink to the clothes we wear, sports teams recruit talent from around the globe, and the iPhones we use to communicate are manufactured in more than 19 different countries are perfect examples of what globalization is about.

Borgen (2013) states that globalization in Mexico has had indisputably positive effects on the national economy. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, Mexico loosened its trade restrictions, greatly reduced tariffs, and signed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) with the United States and Canada. In this method the teaching is done entirely in the target language. The learner is not allowed to use his or her mother tongue. Grammar rules are avoided and there is emphasis on good pronunciation. In the Audio-lingual method the theory behind this method is that learning a language means acquiring habits. There is much practice of dialogues of every situation. New language is first heard and extensively drilled before being seen in its written form.
The structural approach. This method sees language as a complex of grammatical rules which are to be learned one at a time in a set order. So, for example the verb "to be" is introduced and practiced before the present continuous tense which uses "to be" as an

He not only spoke about the impact that NAFTA has had on the US and Mexico, but also the effects it had with Mexican-American relations, so much so that it became a hot topic for the 2016 Presidential Election. Mr. Dondisch-Glowinski went into depth on the Mexican economy and how it closed itself off from trade, but ultimately saw how expensive and ineffective of a plan it was.
