This hell was constructed based on the views of transcendentalism. Emerson was the most well known transcendentalist as well as an author and poet. Along with this, Emerson was a close friend of Thoreau and was one of his few human contacts during Thoreau’s time at Walden pond. If anyone was to understand the mind of Thoreau and his life in Walden, it would be Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Sinners clear cut forests, littered and defiled nature. They showed no respect to the planet or ecosystem, so therefore are punished by becoming the victims. The sinners are turned into giant trees while lumberjacks hack away at their base. When the tree finally falls it causes the sinner immense pain which continues as they sprout out of the ground as a new tree. Since he believed everyone should have been educated like him, people who refused to learn Thoreau’s transcendentalism ways are doomed to this level. Sinners in this level are dropped into an endless Walden Lake while Thoreau fishes. As he relaxes, sinners are forced to listen to Thoreau’s teachings and philosophies. If any sinner tries to dip below the water to escape these endless teaching Thoreau immediately casts his fishing line and pulls them into his boat, forcing them to listen to a now even closer and louder Thoreau. Offenders include vulnerable people who can’t think for themselves. People like Charlie Gordon from Flowers for Algernon, Lennie Small from Of Mice and Men, and Forrest Gump are all found here. Thoreau feeds on their vulnerabilities and loves nothing more than to spread his philosophies to others no matter what they believe in. Here he is, in power and in the true heart of Walden
