Once Malcolm X joined the Nation Of Islam and became a speaker, he put a type of fear in white people in America. Malcolm wasn’t a violent person but because the lack of opportunities there were for blacks he had no choice if he wanted a way to advance. Malcolm X didn’t care for whites that much but he would still conk his hair to look like the white man. The reason for this was because during that time there wasn’t many positive representations of blacks. Malcolm was imprisoned for 10 years. During this time Malcolm read every book he could and learned as much as possible. Malcolm studied every word out of the dictionary. Malcolm was visited by members of the Nation Of Islam who were a group of muslims who wanted to establish black nationalism. Malcolm went through his transformation to being Malcolm X, he became of of the biggest speakers and leaders of the civil rights movements.
