The stakeholders involved in this experiment include the researchers, the rhesus monkeys, anyone funding the experiment, WCU’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) as well as any additional regulatory committees, and society. All of these stakeholders could reap benefits from the experiment outcome and/or negative consequences if the experiment is inconclusive. For example, if the experiment were to have an inconclusive outcome, both the mother and infant rhesus monkey(s) would be at risk for struggling with trust and attachment issues

The success of these initial interests could lead to further interests such as gaining professional recognition for the success of the experiment. For the rhesus monkeys used in the experiment, their main interests are to meet their primary needs (food and comfort) in an attempt to reduce pain and distress as well as maintaining their individual wellbeing. Sponsors of the experiment, or those who contribute funds to the research cause, are interested in supporting the research that is being done with the hopes that, by providing funds, the research team can conduct safe and ethical experiments that will produce valuable outcomes. The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and additional regulation committees’ primary interest in this case would be to create and oversee research protocols that ensure the safety and wellbeing of the animals used during the experiment as well as the staff operating the experiment. Lastly, society is interested in the ethical treatment of those involved in the experiment as well as the benefits associated with what the experiment can offer the greater majority (insight into human behavior in relation to attachment
